Mr. Pyke, a native Dallasite, has tried over fifty disputed cases and has focused his practice in probate administration and disputes and estate planning since 2000. His knowledge of the judges, juries, and community gives him an unique insight to well advise you in planning, administration, and disputed matters.

Mr. Pyke has been married more than 35 years to Debra, a CPA, and has two children, Bobbye Elizabeth, a law student at the University of Houston, and Jackson, an electrical engineer. Mr. Pyke is an active member and choir member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. Away from law, he loves baseball, shooting sports, and reading.

Jeffrey L. Crouch

Jeffrey L. Crouch

Mr. Crouch has been practicing law for over 28 years and has concentrated his practice on probate and guardianship issues and disputes, and estate planning, especially Medicaid and VA planning. He is a certified mediator and is certified to represent clients in guardianship matters by the State Bar of Texas.  He is also accredited by the Veteran’s Administration.

Mr. Crouch is a cum laude graduate of Texas Tech School of Law, and has practiced at Strasburger and Price, Jenkens & Gilchrist, and most recently, Haiman Hogue, PLLC.  Mr. Crouch received a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin.

Mr. Crouch has tried numerous cases in North Texas to verdict, and is a member of the Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law section of the State Bar of Texas.  He is admitted to practice by the Supreme Court of Texas, the United States District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, and Southern Districts of Texas, and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mr. Crouch resides in Frisco and is a member of the Collin County Bar Association.

James Balen

James Balen

James is originally from Windsor, Ontario.  He earned his law degree from the University of North Texas at Dallas College of Law.  While in law school, James gained extensive experience with probate matters as a clerk for the Honorable Ingrid M. Warren in Dallas Probate Court 2. Since then, James has committed himself to the probate practice for the duration of his legal career.  James is committed to building strong relationships with clients and ensuring the best solution to their problems.

Prior to attending law school, James worked as a licensed mortgage broker in Texas since 2006.  Outside of law, James enjoys spending time with family and friends, golf, and traveling.

Herman Moncure

Estate Planning Associate

Herman Moncure

Herman was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, primarily by his grandparents. His grandfather worked for General Motors for 44 years, and his grandmother worked for a local hospital for 25 years.  As a young man, Herman oversaw end-of-life care for his grandparents, coordinating their medical care and administering their estates. This upbringing provided Herman with a strong work ethic and a front-row seat to many of the legal issues his grandparents faced, which sparked his interest in helping families, particularly elderly individuals, in dealing with estate planning and probate matters.

Prior to attending law school, Herman worked in business and finance for over a decade, including serving as a portfolio manager for various classes of assets. While working full-time in addition to pursuing his law degree, Herman volunteered as a student attorney writing estate plans for elderly clients and providing status updates regarding the well-being of wards of the Court. Herman fully understands the need to handle estate and probate matters with care and compassion.

Elena Ordoñez

Elena Ordoñez

Elena was born and raised in Allen, Texas. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Government at the University of Texas at Austin and earned her law degree from Washington University in St. Louis, School of Law.

Elena’s interest in probate matters began during her internship with the probate division of Blanco Ordoñez Mata & Wechsler, P.C, in El Paso, Texas. Through her exposure to probate matters, Elena discovered the importance of providing efficient and empathetic counsel to clients. Additionally, Elena gained invaluable experience in probate matters during her internship with Pyke and Associates, P.C. before officially joining the firm in 2023.

Elena is committed to providing legal services with compassion and integrity through the difficult periods of her clients’ lives. Outside of law, Elena enjoys traveling, kayaking, and spending time with family and friends.

Chriselda (Chris) Segovia

Chriselda (Chris) Segovia is native to Dallas, Texas. She pursued her law degree at the UNT Dallas College of Law, solidifying her commitment to serving her community through legal expertise.

Before embarking on her law school journey, Chris worked as a probate paralegal for 7 years. This experience equipped her with valuable skills, further enriching her legal practice.

During her tenure at law school, Chris honed her skills and gained invaluable experience in probate and guardianship matters while serving as a clerk for the Honorable Judge Ingrid M. Warren in Dallas Probate Court No. Two. This hands-on experience gave her a deep understanding of probate law, which became the focus of her legal career. Since graduating law school, Chris has dedicated herself enthusiastically to the practice of probate law, striving to provide her clients with the best solutions to their legal challenges. She prioritizes building strong relationships with her clients, ensuring that they feel supported and empowered throughout the legal process.

Beyond Chris’ professional pursuits, Chris loves playing soccer with her teammates, finds joy in spending time with her loved ones, and exploring the outdoors. Her diverse interests contribute to her well-rounded approach to life and work.

Diana Shields

Diana Shields

Diana was born and raised in Dallas, TX. She was born to immigrant parents, a Salvadorian mother, and a Mexican father. She is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Diana has been in the legal profession for 15 years. She began at a document retrieval service specializing in litigation matters as a processing clerk and team lead. She then transitioned into the debt collection field and worked as a paralegal for two debt collection firms. It was during this time that she decided to pursue her certification in paralegal studies. Following her time in debt collection, she pursued a career in probate law where she has experience in probate, guardianship, and heirship matters.

In her spare time, Diana enjoys spending time with family and friends, her husband, and their American Bully dog.

Jacqueline White

Jacqueline hails from Houston, Texas. She has been working in the legal arena for over 24 years.

Jacqueline worked in Albuquerque, New Mexico with Jason Kent, P.C. for 14 years, as a Legal Assistant/Office Manage, providing assistance to local new auto dealership owners.

Jacqueline was the Legal Assistant for the Legal Affairs Department of Community Health Choice, and with the Texas Department of Insurance.

Jacqueline trained in probate and guardianship matters, and now enjoys her work in helping people navigate their probate cases.

Rhonda Downing

Rhonda Downing

Rhonda has more than twenty years’ experience in Medicaid and Veterans benefits planning, estate planning, and probate.  She is a Veteran of the United States Air Force (USAF), with a background in electronics and aircraft guidance and control systems.  During her time in the Air Force, she also served as a Paralegal in the office of the Judge Advocate General at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana. After departing the military, she returned to Texas and has since worked in the areas of estate planning, probate, and elder law areas of Medicaid and Veterans benefits planning for more than twenty years.  While working full time in a thriving law practice, she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and plans to attend law school.

Rhonda has personally assisted hundreds of families in estate planning and in long-term care benefit planning.  Assisting families with the care and benefit planning for aging or disabled loved ones is a complex yet fulfilling endeavor.  When families are faced with difficult and expensive needs for care for an aging or disabled loved one, having the right legal assistance can relieve the financial stresses, fears and burdens, and enable clients to focus more on the health and care for their loved one.

Natasha Hoffpauir

Natasha Hoffpauir

Natasha was born and raised in Luhansk, Ukraine. After receiving her Master of Arts in English, she spent over a decade influencing young people’s lives by teaching foreign languages to post graduate students both in Ukraine and the United States.

Texas has been her home for over 25 years. Natasha’s core values and principles have always been determined by her belief in the word of law. She applied her passion of pursuing a paralegal career in estate planning, bankruptcy, and probate.

Away from the law office, she is a committed mother to two sons who are pursuing their dreams as they are stepping into young adulthood. She holds them to high standards by reminding them of their cultural background, morals, and passion in serving others.

Michelle Henderson

Michelle Henderson

Michelle grew up in and around the Dallas metroplex.  Watching her mother work for two State Representatives inspired Michelle to get her Paralegal Associates Degree and go into the legal field.  Michelle completes all of the new client intakes for Pyke and Associates and she assists former clients with opening new matters.

Outside of work Michelle has helped to rescue animals, enjoys spending time with her own three large rescue dogs, and is enjoying setting up her new house.

Lucy Zhu

Lucy Zhu

Lucy is a recent transplant to Texas. She’s originally from Alabama where she grew up as a first generation Chinese American. Growing up, she’s adjusted to cultural differences and uses that adaptivity with assisting clients from all different types of background.

She enjoys greeting clients and welcoming them to the firm when they first walk in. She assists them throughout their relationship with Pyke & Associates whether it be questions regarding their case as a Support Administrator or with Invoices as a Billing Coordinator.

Outside of work Lucy enjoys readings, going to art markets and conventions with friends. As well as getting to explore more of Texas as she settles in.
